Gymnastics Wraps Up 2015 Season With Fine Performances In USAG Individual Event Finals
Several Purple Knights Earn USAG All-America Honors
Philadelphia. Pa.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team wrapped up its season on Sunday afternoon with several fine performances in the Individual Event Finals of the 2015 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championship Meet taking place in the Palestra on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
As they have all season, seniors Sasha Tsikhanovich (Marysville, Ohio) and Caitlin Perry (N. Kingston, R.I.) starred in the floor exercise event, as they both finished as part of a three-way tie for first place with scores of 9.990. UB sophomore Brianna Comport (Gilbertsville, Pa.) tied for fourth in the floor exercise to also earn All-America honors with a score of 9.850 (the second highest score).
Tsikhanovich, who finished second in the USAG All-Around with her performance on Friday night in the team semifinals with a total of 38.900, took second place on the balance beam on Sunday with a score of 9.850.
In the vault, sophomore Kimberly Stewart (Eastham, Mass.) finished in a tie for fifth, and Caitlin Perry grabbed sixth place to earn more All-American accolades.
