Senior Gymnasts Sasha Tsikhanovich And Caitlin Perry Perform Well At 2015 NCAA Regional
Up Next Bridgeport Women's Gymnastics Team Looks For Seventh Straight USAG Team Title
Morgantown, W.Va.-University of Bridgeport senior gymnasts Sasha Tsikhanovich (Marysville, Ohio) and Caitlin Perry (N. Kingston, R.I.) took part in the 2015 NCAA Women's Gymnastics West Virginia Regional on Saturday, and both Purple Knights turned in strong performances. Tsikhanovich finished fifth out of 15 competitors in the all-around on Saturday posting a score of 39.250 in the four events, and Perry turned in a score of 9.750 in the floor exercise which put her in 26th place out of 42 gymnasts in that event.
Sasha's top finish on Saturday came in the floor exercise where she tied for fourth place with a solid score of a 9.875. She turned in a 9.850 on the beam (11th place), a 9.825 on the vault (17th place) and a 9.700 on the bars (25th place).
At the conculsion of the meet, Tsikhanovich was named the NCAA Division II Women's Gymnastics Athlete of the Year.
Up next, the UB women's gymnastics team will close out the 2015 season at the USAG National Championship host by the University of Pennsylvania next weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Purple Knights are looking for their seventh straight team title at the USAGs.
