UB Women's Gymnastics Posts Another Season-High Team Total To Win Temple's Ken Anderson Memorial Invitational
Purple Knights Score 194.375 As Senior Sasha Tsikhanovich Wins All Four Individual Events And The All-Around Title With School Record Score Of 39.475 On Saturday
Philadelphia, Pa.-For the third consecutive meet, the University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team posted a season-high team score. This time, the Purple Knights won the Ken Anderson Memorial Invitational hosted by Temple University with a score of 194.375. The host Owls took second place on Saturday with a score of 191.700, and West Chester University took third place with a total of 190.575.
On Valentine's Day, UB senior Sasha Tsikhanovich (Marysville, Ohio) made the hearts of all Bridgeport fans soar, as she won all four individual events and took first in the all-around competition with a new UB record score of 39.475.
Tsikhanovich won the floor exercise with a score of 9.900, the beam with a score of 9.875, the bars with a score of 9.825, and she posted a 9.875 to win the vault.
In the floor exercise, senior, team captain Caitlin Perry (N. Kingston, R.I.) took second with a score of 9.850, and junior Randi Cutolo (S. Jordan, Utah) and sophomore Brianna Comport (Gilbertsville, Pa.) tied for third place with a score of 9.825.
On the beam, Comport and freshman Carol Chiles (Fairfield, Calif.) tied for second place with a score of 9.775.
On the bars, sophomore Amber Hill (Windsor Locks, Conn.) grabbed third place with a score of 9.725.
On the vault, sophomore Kimberly Stewart (Eastham, Mass.) finished in second place with a score of 9.800.
On Monday evening, the UB women's gymnastics team will continue a busy few days of action with a quad meet at Brown University slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
