UB Gymnastics Finishes Second At Brown Quad Meet
Purple Knights Post A 190.800 Team Score
Providence, R.I.-The University of Bridgeport gymnastics team took second place in a quad meet hosted by Brown University on Sunday afternoon in Rhode Island. Brown took first place with a score of 191.875. UB was second with a team score of 190.800, followed by Southern Connecticut State (188.275) and MIT (136.775).
Bridgeport gymnasts took first places on all four individual events on Sunday.
On the vault, sophomore Monica Mesalles (Barcelona, Spain) was first with a score of 9.900, and freshman Kamri Riles (Ellenwood, Ga.) was second (9.800).
On the bars, freshman Emily Turik (Crystal Lake, Ill.) was first with a score of 9.725.
Junior Emily Repko (Gilbertsville, Pa.) was first on balance beam (9.800), and she fish shed in a three-way tie along with Kamri Riles in the floor exercise with a score of 9.825.
Monica Mesalles was third in the all-around competition with a total of 37.600.
The Bridgeport gymnastics team will be back in action on March 11th at Arizona State University,
