Women's Basketball Falls to Mercy, 75-55
Harmony Earth-Wiley led the Purple Knights in both points (16) and rebounds (9).
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing their final game before Thanksgiving Break, the University of Bridgeport's women's basketball team dropped a 75-55 matchup to Mercy on Tuesday night.
Sophomore Harmony Earth-Wiley piloted the home squad with the best game of her career so far. The Michigan native finished with team-highs in both points (16) and rebounds (9) as she neared her second career double-double.
Earth-Wiley also tallied three steals to tie for the team lead with Ana Gascon.
Freshman Zahkiyyah Frazier served as UB's second double-digit scorer with 10 points off the bench. She made all six of her free throws in the contest.
Shakira Hester supplemented Bridgeport's attack with eight points. She also hauled in five boards to put her averages at 10.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game this season.
As a team, the Purple Knights shot 16-of-52 (30.8%) from the field and 18-for-31 (58.1%) from the charity stripe. UB made a season-best five three-pointers on 12 attempts.
Bridgeport also hauled in a season-high 17 offensive rebounds. The Purple Knights scored 11 second-chance points.
