UB Women Lead From Start To Finish In Road Win Over Alliance, 66-60
Senior Stephanie McBride Leads The Purple Knights With 18 Points And 18 Rebounds
Jersey City, N.J.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team never trailed ibn the contest on Thursday night, as the Purple Knights posted a 66-60 road Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win over host Alliance University. UB is now an even 6-6 overall and 2-2 in conference play. Alliance falls to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the CACC.
Senior Stephanie McBride (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Bridgeport at both ends of the court finishing with an impressive double-double of 18 points and a season-high 18 rebounds.
She was joined in double figures by freshman Amani Melendez (Woodbridge, Va.), who knocked down four three-pointers for the winners, with 14 points and sophomore Brianna Meekins (Bridgeport, Conn.) with 10 points.
All 10 players that saw action for UB in the game scored points.
Up next for the University of Bridgeport women, the Purple Knights will host a New Year's Eve matinee in Hubbell Gym on Saturday taking on CACC foe Wilmington (Del.) University. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. in the Park City, as UB looks to run its winning streak to three.
