Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team trail by only one point, 52-51, entering the fourth quarter versus the visiting Southern Connecticut State Owls, but the visitors outscored UB 19-4 in the final quarter to post a 71-55 win in the 2010-20 season opener for both teams on Saturday at the 2019 UB Women's Basketball Classic.
Newcomer, junior Alyzae Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) led the Purple Knights with 15 points on Saturday, and she was joined in double figures by classmate Samirah Henderson (Rahway, N.J.) who netted 13 points.
Senior Jaqualah Holliman (Boston, Mass.) led UB on the boards with eight rebounds.
Jessica Fressle led four SCSU players in double figures with 21 points.
