Samnell Vonleh Picks Up Third Consecutive ECC Women's Basketball Player Of The Week Nod

West Babylon, N.Y.-For the third straight week, University of Bridgeport senior Samnell Vonleh (Swampscott, Mass.) has been selected as the East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her outstanding play in games from February 18 through 24, 2019.

Vonleh averaged an impressive double-double for Bridgeport last week at 22.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, as her team went 1-1. In a home win over LIU Post, Samnell scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and she followed up with 15 points and 12 rebounds at NYIT on Saturday. On the week, Vonleh also had six blocked shots and two steals.

This week, Sam and her UB teammates close out the 2018-198 regular season fighting for a sport in the East Coast Conference Championship Tournament playing at Robert Wesleyan College on Friday night and Daemen College on Sunday afternoon.
