Sparkill, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon, as the Purple Knights dropped and East Coast Conference away game to the host St. Thomas Aquinas College Lady Spartans by a score of 75-40. UB is now 8-17 overall and 5-10 in conference play. STAC ups its season mark to 22-3, and they move to 14-1 in the ECC.
It was a tough day on offense for the Purple Knights as they shot only 25.0 percent from the floor (11-of-44) and committed 27 turnovers. The 40 points are a single-game season low in 2017-18 for Bridgeport.
Sophomore Kayla Hill (Massapequa, N.Y.) was the only Purple Knights' player to reached double figures with 11 points off the UB bench.
Senior Morgen Caution (Baltimore, Md.) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and chipped in seven points on the day.
Up next, the UB women's basketball team opens a two-game homestand next Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. when they host Mercy College in Hubbell Gym.
