Rochester, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team held a slim, 43-42, lead entering the fourth quarter, but the host Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks outscored the vesting Purple Knights, 26-13, during the final 10 minutes to post a 68-56 East Coast Conference win on Friday evening. With the loss, UB is now 6-14 overall and 3-7 in conference play. RWC ups its overall record to 14-6, and the Redhawks are 8-2 in the ECC.
UB sophomore Kadijah Dickson (Queens, N.Y.) led all scorers in the game with 15 points, and she grabbed eight rebounds plus dished off five assists.
Junior Samnell Vonleh (Swampscott, Mass.) finished with a double-double for the Purple Knights, as she scored 13 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds. Vonleh also blocked a pair of shots on the evening.
Up next, the UB women's basketball team will close out their three-game road trip at Daemen College in Amherst, N.Y. on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
