Two Purple Knights Earn 2016-17 All-Conference Women's Basketball Accolades
Senior Camera Miley Named Second Team All-ECC And Sophomore Samnell Vonleh Elected Third Team All-Conference
Central Islip, N.Y.-Two members of the 2016-17 University of Bridgeport women's basketball team have been named to this season's All-East Coast Conference Team announced on Friday evening.
Senior Camera Miley (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earned Second Team All-ECC accolades, and teammate sophomore Samnell Vonleh (Swampscott, Mass.) received Third Team All-Conference honors.
Miley led the Purple Knights in scoring average at 13.7 points per game, plus she dished out a team-high 118 assists and had a team-best 56 steals.
Vonleh finished 2016-17 averaging 9.4 points and team-best 7.9 rebounds per game. Samnell finished the season as one of the nation's top shot blockers erasing a total of 87 shots in 29 contests.
The UB women's basketball team finished the 2016-17 season with a 15-14 overall record, a five-win improvement over the previous season, and the Purple Knights appeared in the 2017 ECC Championship Tournament for the first time in four seasons this year.
