Women's Basketball Back In Win Column With Big ECC Victory Over Molloy, 71-65
Camera Miley Leads UB In Scoring With 19 Points
The first three quarters were played extremely tightly, with neither team holding an advantage of more than six points. After the Purple Knights entered the fourth quarter with a 48-46 edge, Molloy jumped out to with early 6-0 run to open the final quarter to take a 52-48. Bridgeport then went on a 12-3 run over the next five minutes and never looked back from there.
Senior Camera Miley (Brooklyn, NY) led the Purple Knights with 19 points, as she connected on a perfect 11-of-11 free throws on the afternoon. Miley added six assists and five rebounds t0 help the winners on the afternoon.
Junior Aurelie Leblanc-Florent (Longueuil, Quebec, Canada) chipped in 15 points, all coming in the second half, to help pace the offense while going 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.
Senior Evelyn Ovner (Vallentuna, Sweden) completed the trio of Purple Knights to score in double-figures. Ovner posted 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Graduate Student Anastasia Williams (Central Islip, NY) secured a game-high 10 rebounds along with an eight-point effort on the offensive front.
Aliyah McDonald led a pair of Molloy players in double-figures with a game high 21 points, including shooting 9-of-27 from the floor and added six assists as well.
Next up, the UB women's basketball team begins a busy stretch of five games in 11 days when they travel to Queens College on Wednesday, February 15. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Gymnasium.
