Camera Miley Nets A Game-High 30 Points But UB Women Fall In Overtime At Adelphi, 75-69
Purple Knights Head Into 2017 At 8-6 Overall
Garden City, N.Y.-Senior Camera Miley (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored a game-high 30 points for the University of Bridgeport women's basketball team, including sending the game into overtime tied at 60-60 by hitting two free throws with 4.8 seconds to play in regulation, but a three-point field goal by Adelphi University's Sierra Clark with 47 seconds to play gave the host Panthers a 67-66 lead in overtime which they never relinquished, as AU topped the visiting Purple Knights, 75-69, in non-conference action on Thursday night on Long Island. With the loss, Bridgeport is now 8-6 overall, and the win ups Adelphi's overall mark to 10-2.
Miley also finished the game with six assists, five rebounds and three steals, as she played the entire 45 minutes of action.
Graduate student Anastasia Williams (Central Islip, N.Y.) finished with a double-double for Bridgeport scoring 15 points and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds.
Calli Balfour led three Adelphi players in double-digit scoring with 29 points.
Adelphi dominated the offensive glass on the night turning a whopping 28 offensive rebounds into 22 second chance points.
Up next, the UB women's basketball team will open action in the 2017 portion of its schedule with a home East Coast Conference contest against the Knights of Queens (N.Y.) College on Wednesday, January 4. Game time in Hubbell Gym is slated for 5:00 p.m.
