Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team fell for the second time in two days to open the 2015-16 season, as the host Purple Knights lost an 86-64 decision to the visiting Owls of Southern Connecticut State University in the final game of the 2015 UB Women's Basketball Classic on Sunday. UB is now 0-2 overall and SCSU remains unbeaten in the early season at 2-0.
Newcomer Aurelie Leblanc-Florent (Longueuil, Quebec, Canada) led Bridgeport with 15 points, and she was joined in double figures by junior Evelyn Ovner (Vallentuna, Sweden) with 11 points.
Nicole Grossbard led four SCSU players in double-digit scoring with 20 points.
The UB women's basketball team will look to get in the win column on Thursday night at home when they host Caldwell College at 7:00 p.m.
