Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team hosted the defending NCAA Division II National Champion, Bentley University Falcons on Saturday afternoon in Hubbell Gym, and the Falcons posted a 76-62 non-conference win over the Purple Knights. UB is now 1-9 overall, and Bentley ups its 2014-15 mark to 6-5.
Senior Tiara Aziz (Easton, Pa.) led Bridgeport with 26 points, five rebounds and one steal on the day. She was joined in double figure by freshman Morgen Caution (Baltimore, Md.) with 11 points, and Caution also blocked four shots and added one steal.
Bentley's Jen Gemma led all players on the afternoon with 31 points and 13 rebounds, plus she added three blocked shots.
The UB women's basketball team will next be in action in nine days after the Holiday Break when they host Chestnut College on Tuesday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m.
