Aziza Patterson Nets Career-High 26 Points As UB Women Edge Post University, 66-62, To Up Season Record To 5-0
Bridgeport Never Trailed On Wednesday Afternoon
Waterbury, Conn.-Junior guard Aziza Patterson (Teaneck, N.J.) scored a career-high 26 points and added five steals plus two assists, as the University of Bridgeport women's basketball team posted a 66-62 non-conference win over the host Post University Eagles on Wednesday afternoon. The Purple Knights, who never trailed in the game and raced out to a 30-18 halftime lead, remain unbeaten on the season at 5-0. Post is now 2-3 in 2012-13.
Graduate student Priscilla Dodoo (Worcester, Mass.) fell just shy of a double-double for UB grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds and scoring nine points. Dodoo was joined in double-digit rebounding by freshman Danielle Dorsett, who playing in her hometown of Waterbury, Connecticut, had 11 boards.
Bridgeport senior Tanisha Carter (East Hartford, Conn.) chipped in nine points for the winners.
Fernanda Mansilla led three Post University players in double figures with 16 points.
The Bridgeport women's basketball team is back in action on Sunday afternoon, November 25 when the Purple Knights travel to Massachusetts to face Stonehill College. Tip-off is set for 1:30 p.m.
