Tanisha Carter Scores 30 Points But Women's Basketball Drops Home Opener To Pace, 71-62
Purple Knights Back In Action At Home On Wednesday Versus Caldwell
Bridgeport, Conn.-Junior transfer Tanisha Carter (East Hartford, Conn.) netted a game-high 30 points, but the University of Bridgeport women's basketball team lost its second straight to open the 2011-12 season, as the Purple Knights fell 71-62 to the Pace University Setters in home opener on Sunday evening in Hubbell Gym.
Joining Carter in double figures for UB were senior Elinor Avny (Raanaana, Israel) with 11 points and sophomore Aziza Patterson (Teaneck, N.J.) with 10 points.
Carter also grabbed eight rebounds for the Purple Knights to tie for the team lead on the glass with freshman Casey Bray (Staten Island, N.Y.).
Brittany Shield led five Pace players in double figures with 18 points.
The UB women's team is back in action on Wednesday night at home when they host Caldwell College. Game time is 5 :00 p.m.
