Bio

Ray Ramelli Jr is entering his fifth year as assistant coach with the Purple Knights. Serving as the team's third base coach, along with assisting in all areas of the program which a special emphasis on hitting and infield defense, the UB softball has enjoyed great success since his arrival winning the last two ECC championships and making back-to-back NCAA National Championship Tournament appearances.

Ramelli Jr. brings over 25 years of fastpitch coaching experience that includes high school and 18U club ball.  Ramelli Jr. was part of the 2011 Sacred Heart Academy Class M State Championship team as an assistant coach working under his father, Head Coach Ray Ramelli.  Over his career as head coach in 18U Ramelli Jr. has had over 60 players move on to all levels of NCAA fastpitch.

Ray has also been a private hitting instructor for the past 10 years with hitting students earning such honors as 150 Hit Club, All League, All State, and State Champion MVP awards. 

He resides in Wallingford, CT with his wife Barbara of 30 years.  They have two children, Alison and Matthew.
