Softball Goes 1-1 on Final Day of Florida Trip
The Purple Knights earned a 5-3 win over Southern New Hampshire before falling 7-3 to Findlay.

CLERMONT, Fla.- Wrapping up a spring-break trip to Florida, the University of Bridgeport's softball team split a pair of games on Sunday. The Purple Knights earned a 5-3 win over Southern New Hampshire before falling 7-3 to Findlay.
GAME ONE – Bridgeport, 5, SNHU 3
The Purple Knights battled back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to take the first game of the day.
Meg McFarland paced the UB offense with a 2-for-3 effort, including an RBI single in the fourth to give the Purple Knights a 4-3 lead.
Isabella Benjamin recorded Bridgeport's lone extra-base hit when she hammered an RBI double to tie the game at 3-3 in the fourth.
Charlee Horton and Alex Hughes also drove runs in with Horton singling in Benjamin in the second and Hughes hitting a sac fly in the sixth.
Senior left-hander Kaite Burawski earned her second win in the circle. She registered a very solid outing of three runs given up across seven innings of work.
GAME TWO – Findlay 7, Bridgeport 3
The Purple Knights led 3-2 before a four-run fifth inning helped Findlay seize momentum.
Senior Angela Oros led the Bridgeport attack with a 2-for-4 performance that included an RBI and a run scored. She is now batting a team-best .395 this season with 13 RBIs and three home runs.
McFarland added an RBI hit as well as she finished the day 3-for-6 with a pair of runs batted in.
Madison D'Amato and Hailey Kim each hit singles and scored a run in the second game of the day.

The Purple Knights will have some time off before beginning conference play with a doubleheader at Wilmington on March 16.
