Winter Haven, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport softball team raised its season record to 7-5 only its penultimate day in Florida by winning two games, blanking the University of Sioux Falls, 2-0, and topping LeMoyne, 6-1.
In the Sioux Falls game, senior Samantha Sabor (Plainfield, Ill.) drove in both runs with a sixth inning single, and junior Miranda Hillman (Placentia, Calif.) fired a four-hit complete game shutout in which she struck out four without issuing a walk.
Versus LeMoyne, freshman Kaite Burawski (Hartley, Del.) was dominant in the circle, firing a one-hitter over seven innings in which she allowed only an unearned run with 14 K's and no walks.
Senior Cassidy Blackwell (Los Angeles, Calif.) and freshman Meg McFarland (Monroe, Conn.) each knocked in two runs.
