Clermont, Fla.-For the third straight day, the University of Bridgeport softball team split two games on their Spring Break to Florida. On Tuesday, the Purple Knights opened the day with a 7-6 win over Post University and were blanked 8-0 on only two hits to close out the day versus Quincy (Ill.) University. UB is now 5-5 on the season.
In the win over Post, senior Gabryelle Dubois (Carlisle, Iowa) smacked a home run and had two hits. Sophomore Reanna Lizardo (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added two hits and two run batted in, and senior Yalitza Rodriguez (Freeport, N.Y.) and junior Stephanie Dean (Old Lyme, Conn.), each had two hits.
In the loss to Quincy, Rodriguez and freshman Kaira Ramon (Stamford, Conn.) had the Purple Knights' only hits.
The UB softball team will take Wednesday off before returning to the field on Thursday to face Jefferson University and Purdue Northwest.
