Flushing, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport softball team lost both ends of an East Coast Conference doubleheader at Queens (N.Y.) College on Saturday afternoon, as QC scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take game one, 2-1, and completed the sweep with a 9-2 win in the second game. The Purple Knights are now 5-15 overall and 0-6 in conference play. Queens raises its overall record to 5-7, and the Knights are now 3-2 in the ECC.
In the opener, UB freshman Jenna DiLorenzo (Woodbridge, Conn.) drove in the team's only run, and junior Kerri Agrela (Smithfield, R.I.) went 2-for-2 at the plate.
In game two, DiLorenzo had two hits and added another RBI, and classmate Janaya Young (Orange, Conn.) had Bridgeport's other run batted in.
The UB softball team will look to get back in the win column on Monday afternoon, when the Purple Knights are scheduled to travel to Nyack College for a non-conference doubleheader.
