Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport softball team fell in both ends of home doubleheader against conference-leading LIU Post on Tuesday afternoon in Seaside Park. The visiting Pioneers won game won, 8-4, and took game two, 10-2, in six innings. With the two losses, UB is now 9-23 overall and 5-13 in the East Coast Conference. LIUP is now 20-7 overall and 16-1 in the ECC.
In the opener, UB senior Jade Blair (West Deptford, N.J.) went two-for-two at the plate and drove in three runs.
In game two, senior Sydney Phillips (Sebastopol, Calif.) hit her third home run of the season, and junior Paige Owens (Berlin, Conn.) had Bridgeport's other run batted in.
The UB softball team is right back in action tomorrow afternoon with an ECC doubleheader at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
