Bridgeport, Conn.-It was another tough day at the plate for the UB softball team against NYIT on Saturday, as the Purple Knights were again shut out in both ends of an East Coast Conference doubleheader by the Bears, falling at home 9-0, in game one and 7-0, in game two. The Purple Knights are now 7-21 overall and 3-9 in the ECC. NYIT ups its overall mark to 18-14, and the Bears are now 10-6 in conference play.
In the opener, senior Katelyn Wall (Madison, Conn.) went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bridgeport offense which mustered six total hits. In the nightcap, UB was limited to only three hits as a team.
The UB softball team will look to back in the win column on Sunday when the Purple Knights host Mercy College in an ECC double dip slated for a 12 noon start.
