Claremont Fla.-The University of Bridgeport softball team split two games for the third consecutive day in Florida, as the Purple Knights (3-3 overall) topped Nyack College. 7-5 in nine innings to open the day and fell 4-2 against a tough Stonehill College squad to close out the day.

Against Stonehill, sophomore Paige Owens (Berlin, Conn.) knocked in both runs, and freshman Kaitlyn Lajoie (Vernon, Conn.) was the tough luck loser pitching a complete game in which allowed only two earned runs while striking out five and giving up six hits.
