Softball Now 2-4 After Going 1-1 On Day Three In Florida
UB Tops St. Michael's And Falls To Bentley
Clermont, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport softball team is now 2-4 on the young 2013 season, as the Purple Knights went 1-1 on day three of their annual Spring Trip to Florida, UB opened the day with an 8-0 win over Saint Michael's College in a game that was called after five innings, and the Purple Knights dropped a 6-3 decision to Bentley University to end the day.
Against St. Mike's, freshman pitcher Jennine Walsh (Langley, B.C., Canada), allowed only one hit to pick up her first intercollegiate victory.
On offense, sophomore Katelyn Wall (Madison, Conn,) had three hits, and classmate Morgan Dunn (Cohoes, N.Y.) had two hits to lead a nine-hit UB attack.
In the loss to Bentley, senior Stephanie Pearce (Surry, England) banged out a double and a triple.
After taking Monday off, the Purple Knights are back in action in the Sunshine State on Tuesday when they will play the University of Sioux Falls and Minot State.
