Softball Swept By Dowling

Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport softball team fell to 5-10 overall and 0-4 in East Coast Conference play on Thursday, as the Purple Knights were swept in a home ECC doubleheader by the visiting Dowling College Golden Lions, 10-1 and 20-1.  The two wins raise Dowling overall record to 9-6, and DC is 9-6 in conference play.

Senior shortstop Emma Wojcik (Warsaw, Poland) had two hits on the day, and sophomore Mallory Streat (Guilford, Conn.) drove in UB's lone run on the afternoon.

The Bridgeport softball team is back in East Coast Conference action on Saturday afternoon at St. Thomas Aquinas College.
