UB Softball Splits Two Games In Florida To Open 2012 Campaign
Purple Knights Nip Alderson-Broaddus And Fall To Bentley

Clermont, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport softball team opened its 2012 season in Florida on Saturday, and the Purple Knights went 1-1 on the day.
UB opened play with a tight 2-1 win over Alderson-Broaddus College of West Virginia, and UB closed the day with an 11-1 loss to Bentley University.
In the win over Alderson-Broaddus, sophomore Tiffany Irrera (Brooklyn, N.Y.) picked up the win pitching a complete game, six-hitter.
Senior Leona Reyna (San Diego, Calif.) and sophomore Mallory Streat (Guilford, Conn.) drove in the Bridgeport runs. Streat's RBI came on a triple.
The UB softball team is back in action in the Sunshine State on Sunday morning as they face St. Michael's College at 9:00 a.m. and Philadelphia University at 11:00 a.m.
