Softball Blanked In Both Games By C.W. Post
Purple Knights Back In Action On Sunday At 12 Noon Versus NYIT At West Haven High School
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport softball team was blanked in both ends of a home East Coast Conference doubleheader by the C.W. Post Pioneers on Saturday afternoon, 10-0 in game one and 11-0 in game two. UB is now 7-32 overall and 2-23 in the ECC. CWP is now 34-12 overall and 20-8 in conference play. The win by the Pioneers in game two gave C.W. Post head coach Jamie Apicella his 500th career win.
In game one, the Purple Knights were limited to only one hit, a sixth-inning pinch single by freshman Katie Caudullo (Scranton, Pa.)
In game two, sophomore Alitha Krolikowski (Bristol, Conn.) went two-for-two to lead a six-hit offensive attack.
Bridgeport gets right back in action on Sunday afternoon as they host an ECC doubleheader versus NYIT. The game will be played at West Haven High School with first pitch scheduled for 12 noon.
