Purple Knights Drop A Pair At ECC Leader Dowling

Brookhaven, N.Y.-The struggles continued for the University of Bridgeport softball team as the Purple Knights were held scoreless in both ends of an East Coast Conference doubleheader for the second consecutive day on Sunday, as UB fell at Dowling College, 8-0 and 6-0.  Bridgeport is now 5-21 overall and 0-12 in conference play.  Dowling raises its overall record to 27-2, and the Golden Lions sit atop the ECC standings with a 13-0 record.

UB was limited to only one hit in Sunday's opener and two hits in game two.

The Purple Knights return home on Tuesday afternoon for an ECC twin bill versus Queens (N.Y.) College.  Action is set to get underway in Seaside Park at 3:00 p.m.
