Cross Country Teams Sweep Post University In Dual Meet Action
Men Win, 23-32, And Women Prevail, 27-31
Waterbury, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's and women's cross country teams each won a dual over the Post University Eagles on Friday afternoon in action that was held on a 5K course in Black Rock State Park. The UB men topped Post, 23-32, as the Purple Knights took three of the top four places, and the Bridgeport women defeated the Eagles, 27-31, with the Purple Knights taking places, three through five.
On the men's side, junior Rich Lubrano (Dix Hills, N.Y.) took first place in the race with a time of 18:05. Classmates Dave Clarkin (Coventry, R.I.) took third place with a time of 18:37, and Vinny Audinot (Commack, N.Y.) was fourth in a time of 19:01.
On the women's side, graduate student Sarah Santos (Norwalk, Conn.) was third in a time of 20:29. Senior Anna Krasnowska (Kedzierzyn-Kozie, Poland) took fourth place crossing the finish line in a time of 20:40, and graduate student Jasmina Alisic (Graz, Austria) was fifth in a time of 21:18.
The UB cross teams are back in action on Saturday October 15th at Fairfield University.
