Bridgeport Swimmers Hit The Water At 2018 NCAA Division II National Championship Meet
Event Runs Through Saturday Evening
Greensboro, N.C.-The University of Bridgeport swim teams opened competition at the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championship Meet in Greensboro, N.C. on Wednesday night, and senior Annagrazia Bonsanti (Caracas, Venezuela) earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the women's 1000 Yard Freestyle, as she finished in eleventh place in a time of 10:06.65.
Sophomore Erik Hren (Maribor, Slovenia) just missed Honorable Mention All-America honors in the men's 1000 Yard Freestyle, as he turned in a time of 9:27.88 which put him in 18th place.
Junior Nina Stegu (Ljublijana, Slovenia) swam in the women's 50 Yard Free on Wednesday, but did not advance out of the preliminaries, as she finished in a time of 23.77.
The UB women sit in 25th place out of 32 scoring teams after day of the NCAAs; while the Purple Knights' men are looking to score their first points of the meet.
Action continues at the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championship Meet through Saturday evening.
