Ivan Capan Earns All-American Honors In 200 IM And Both UB Teams In 20th Place After Day One Of NCAA Meet
Action At NCAA's Continues Through Saturday
Indianapolis, Indiana-University of Bridgeport senior Ivan Capan (Zagreb, Croatia) earned All-America honors in the men's 200-yard individual medley, and both University of Bridgeport swim teams sit in 20th place following the first day of the 2016 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving National Championship Meet being help in Indianapolis, Indiana. The UB men have 11 points, and the Bridgeport women total 14 points on the opening day of the four-day event.
Capan earned All-America honors by virtue of his eighth place finish in the 200 IM in a time of 1:48.42.
For the UB women scoring points on Wednesday were sophomore Annagrazia Bonsanti (Caracas, Venezuela), who took fifteenth place in the 1000-yard Freestyle in a time of 10:14.37, and the 200-yard Medley Relay team of junior Yekaterina Gakhokidze, senior Jaimy Lee Taskin, freshman Nina Stegu and junior Tatiana Shepel took eleventh place in a time of 1:43.85.
