Men's Relays Shine On Day Two Of 2015 NCAA Championship Meet
Men Sit In 6th Place-Women In 26th Halfway Through NCAA Championship Meet
Indianapolis, Indiana.-It was night for relay excellence for the University of Bridgeport men's swimming team on Thursday night at the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship Meet, as the Purple Knights earned All-America accolades in the 200-Yard Free Relay and the 400-Yard Medley Relay, as UB took fourth place in both events.
The 200-Yard Free Relay team of Vladislav Paskas, Ruben Gimenez, Ivan Capan and Antonio Nunez turned in a time of 1:19.54.
The 400-Yard Medley Relay quartet of Brian Kelly, Capan, Didac Matsuyama and Gimenez took fourth place in a time of 3:12.69.
The Bridgeport men also earned two Honorable Mention All-American honors on Thursday, as Antonio Nunez took twelfth place in the 400-yard IM (3L57.85) and Vladislav Paskas finished fourteenth in the 200-yard Freestyle (1:38.56).
The Bridgeport women's team did not add to their team point total on Thursday.
As a team, the UB men remained in sixth place overall, as they now have 133 points. 28 teams have netted points so far on the men's side at the NCAA Championship.
The Bridgeport women sit in 26th place with 12 points out of 34 scoring teams.
Action at the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving National Championship Meet continues through Saturday evening.
