Wilmington, Del.-Sophomore Maximilian Kissel (Wiesbaden, Germany) scored three goals on Saturday afternoon to up his team-leading season total to six to help the University of Bridgeport men's soccer team to a solid 4-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference road win over the host Goldey-Beacom College Lightning. The victory moves UB's overall season mark to 3-3-2, and the Purple Knights are 2-0-0 in the CACC. Goldey-Beacom is now 2-4-1 overall and 0-1-1 in conference play.
Kissel's first goal came in the 20t minute off an assist from Alex Tan (Sr., Vichy, France). His second tally came in the 80th off an assist from Josef Preci (Savona, Italy). Preci finished with a three-point, as he scored his team's final goal of the day in 81st minute.
Max would finish his hat trick when his third goal came off a helper from junior John Louis (Bridgeport, Conn.) in the 75th minute.
UB goalkeeper Hugo Franceschi (Toulouse, France) made two saves to pick up his third win of the season.
Up next, the UB men's soccer team will play an important early season conference match against local rival the Post University Eagles on Tuesday night at Knights Field. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
