Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's soccer team opened its 2018 East Coast Conference schedule with a 3-1 home triumph over the visiting Molloy College Lions on Tuesday evening. The Purple Knights are now 3-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in the ECC. Molloy slips to 1-4-0 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play.
UB netted a pair of goals in the first half when Marlon Montanella (Grad. The Purple Knights increased their lead to 3-0 just over seven minutes into the second half when senior Jhonah-George Felipe (Kailua, Hawaii) found the back of the net for the first time in 2018 off a helper from freshman Oleh Senyk (Stamford, Conn.).
Molloy would end senior goalkeeper Daniel Coviella's (Ribadesella, Spain) shutout bid with a tally in the 68th minute.
