Bridgeport, Conn.- The visiting Wilmington (Del.) University Wildcats scored once in the first half and again in the second half to post a 2-1 non-conference men's soccer win over the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Tuesday afternoon in the Park City. With the win, the Wildcats improved their overall record to 8-5-3; while the Purple Knights slip to 3-9-1 on the season.
The Wildcats outshot the Purple Knights 18-6 on the day and had the slight advantage in corner kicks 6-4.
Wilmington's Tom Garratt scored first off an assist from teammate Daniel Macdonald-Taylor who later scored a goal himself. Jake Meyer assisted on the second goal.
The loan goal scored for the Purple Knights was by senior Femi Coker (Johannesburg, South Africa), marking his second goal of the season with just under five minutes to play in the contest. He was assisted by senior Jaylan White (Dix Hills, N.Y.), his first of the season.
The Purple Knights' junior goaltender Juan Munoz (Bogota, Columbia) had seven saves on the afternoon.
