Bridgeport, Conn.-The visiting Merrimack College Warriors, ranked number 25 in the nation, scored early goals in both the first and second half and added one more in the final eight minutes of play to post a 3-0 non-conference win over the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights in the final match of the 2017 UB Men's Soccer Classic on Saturday night. Merrimack is now 3-1-0 on the season, and Bridgeport slips to 1-3-0.
Sophomore Nikolai Vadseth (Langevaag, Norway) had four shots on the night for the Purple Knights, and senior Femi Coker (Johannesburg, South Africa) had three shots for the host team on Saturday night. Merrimack finished with a slim 10-8 advantage in shots on the night.
Up next, the UB men's soccer team will host the NYIT Bears to open 2017 East Coast Conference play on Thursday night at Knights Field. The match is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m.
