Lee Middleton And Augustin Prados Earn Weekly East Coast Conference Men's Soccer Accolades
Pair Helped UB Go 2-0-0 Last Week
Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport men's soccer players, senior Lee Middleton (Newcastle, England) and freshman Augustin Prados (Madrid, Spain) have been recognized by the East Coast Conference with weekly awards for their outstanding play for the Purple Knights in matches played from September 17 through 24, 2012. Middleton earned ECC Defensive Player of the Week honors, and Prados was selected as the league's Rookie of the Week.
Middleton was outstanding last week scoring the game-winning goal 2:43 into the second overtime in Bridgeport's 2-1 road win at the University of the District of Columbia and assisting on the game-winning goal in overtime in UB's 1-0 home win over No. 19 Franklin Pierce on Wednesday. Lee also played fine defense on the week, helping his team allow only one goal in two matches.
Prados was rock-solid in net for the University of Bridgeport last week, helping his team to two wins as he made a total of 13 saves. He opened the week by picking up a clean sheet (his second shutout of 2012) in overtime against No. 19 Franklin Pierce. Augustin made three saves in the win over the Ravens. In Saturday's 2-1 double OT win at UDC, he made a total of 10 saves to help the Purple Knights to their fourth consecutive victory.
This week the Bridgeport men's soccer team hosts a pair of East Coast Conference matches welcoming Queens (N.Y.) College on Wednesday and Molloy on Saturday.
