Men's Soccer Back In Win Column With 6-2 Victory At Wilmington (Del.) University
Markus Naglestad Scores Three Goals And Adds Two Assists To Help UB To The Win
New Castle, Del.-Sophomore Markus Naglestad (Kristiansand, Norway) scored three goals and dished out two assists to help the University of Bridgeport men's soccer team snap a three-match losing streak with a convincing 6-2 non-conference road win over the host Wilmington (Del.) University Wildcats on Thursday afternoon. With the victory, the Purple Knights are now an even 4-4-0 overall on the season. Wilmington drops to 3-4-3 overall.
Naglestad's hat trick gives him a team-leading five goals this season, and he now has three assists for a team-high 13 points.
Also scoring goals for Bridgeport on Thursday afternoon were senior Patric Brundin (Gothenburg, Sweden), senior Josh Pellegrini (Vineland, N.J.) and sophomore Danny Ruiz (Stamford, Conn.), who also added an assist.
The Purple Knights dominated the game outshooting Wilmington, 31-6.
The UB men's soccer team returns to action on Saturday with an East Coast Conference home contest versus NYIT. Action gets underway at Knights Field at 6:00 p.m.
