Men's Soccer Blasts Concordia (N.Y.), 6-0
Team Nets A Season-High Six Goals In Non-Conference Win
Bridgeport, Conn.-Junior Patric Brundin (Gothenburg, Sweden) scored a hat trick, and freshman Markus Naglestad (Kristiansand, Norway) added two scores and one assist to help the University of Bridgeport men's soccer team to a 6-0 non-conference win over the Concordia (N.Y.) College Clippers at soggy Knights Field on Thursday evening. With the win, the Purple Knights third in a row, UB is now 8-5-0 overall. The loss drops Concordia to 2-8-1 on the season.
Bridgeport scored three goals in each half on Thursday, and the six goals are a single-game season high for the Purple Knights.
Brundin's hat trick gives him a total of five goals on the year, and Naglestad's two tallies give him a team-leading seven goals so far in 2010.
The Purple Knights other goal on Thursday was netted by freshman Taylor Backhaus (Ashford, Conn.), who now has three goals on the season.
Sophomores Lee Middleton (Newcastle, England) and Arnold Hitoaliaj (Tirana, Albania) each had two assists for Bridgeport on Thursday.
Senior Milos Suljagic (Belgrade, Serbia) and sophomore Danny Hernandez (Bay Shore, N.Y.) shared the shut out in goal for the Purple Knights, as they each recorded three saves,
