Offense Rules The Night As UB Men Blitz Felician, 109-88
Senior Malcolm Moye Stars With 37 Points And 12 Rebounds To Lead The Purple Knights
Bridgeport, Conn.-Offense was the word of the night for the University of Bridgeport men's basketball team who got back in the win column on Tuesday night, as the Purple Knights cruised to a 109-88 home Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win over the visiting Felician University Golden Falcons. The Purple Knights are now 8-8 overall and 4-4 in the CACC. The Golden Falcons slip to 4-12 overall and are 0-7 in conference play.
The 109 points are a season-high for the Purple Knights.
Senior Malcolm Moye (Windsor, Conn.) was lights out for the winners on Tuesday finishing with a game-high in points with 37 and rebounds with 12. Moye also added three assists and three blocked shots on the night in his 28 minutes of action. Those 37 points are seven shy of tying his career-high of 44 set last season versus St. Thomas Aquinas.
Also reaching double figures for the winners were graduate student Matt Turner (Trumbull, Conn.) with 15 points, and junior Ryo Kobayashi (Kangawa, Japan) tied his season-hi with 12 points.
On the night, the Purple Knights hit 42-of-80 shots (53.8%) and dished off 31 assists with only seven turnovers.
Sophomore Taj Chiles (Harlem, N.Y.) had nine assists to lead Bridgeport.
UB also dominated the backboards on Tuesday outrebounding the Golden Falcons, 49-25.
Up next, the UB men's basketball team travels to Delaware to take on Goldey-Beacom in a CACC game on Saturday afternoon. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. following the women's tilt.
