UB Men Close Out Pre-Holiday Schedule With Loss At St. Anselm
Senior Ali Sumareh Leads the Purple Knights With A Season-High 15 Points
Manchester, N.H.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team never led in the game as the Purple Knights closed out their 2022-23 pre-Holiday Break schedule with a 97-74 non-conference road loss against the St. Anselm College Hawks in New Hampshire. UB is now 5-6 overall, and St. Anselm, winners of six straight, ups its season record to 8-3.
Senior Ali Sumareh (Bronx, N.Y.) led the Purple Knights with a season-high 15 points, as he hit 7-of-8 field goals, and he was joined in double figures by classmate Mason Williams (Voorhees, N.J.) with 11 points.
Zac Taylor led the Hawks with a game-high 23 points, as three players for the hosts topped the 20-point plateau.
The UB men's basketball team will next be in action following the Holiday Break on Thursday, December 29 when the Purple Knights will return to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play and take on Alliance University on the road. Game time in Jersey City, New Jersey is set for 7:30 pm.
