UB Men Nipped By Bloomfield, 86-81, In CACC Action
Joshua Dennis Leads The Purple knights With A Season-Best 20 Points
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team dropped a tight 86-81 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference home game against the visiting Bloomfield College Bears on Saturday afternoon in Hubbell Gym. UB is now 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the CACC. Bllomfield moves to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Newcomer junior Joshua Dennis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Purple Knights with season-high 20 points off the UB bench, and he was joined in double figures by classmate D'Andre Collins (Newark, N.Y.) who had 10 points. Collins also grabbed a team-leading seven rebounds.
Poor free throw shooting plagued the Purple Knights in the loss, as they went 11-of-25 from the foul line (44.0%).
Bloomfield's Andres Fulgenciao led for Bears in double-digit scoring with a game-high 23 points.
Up next, the UB men's basketball team will host a conference tilt with Dominican University (NY) on Tuesday night. Game time in Hubbell Gym is set for 7:00 pm.
