Floyd Preito And Bakary Camara Earn Weekly ECC Men's Basketball Awards
Helped UB Earn Two Wins Last Week
West Babylon, N.Y.-Two University of Bridgeport men's basketball players, senior Floyd Preito (Philadelphia, Pa.) and junior Bakary Camara (Harlem, N.Y.) have earned East Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week accolades for their outstanding play in games from February 18 through 24, 2019. Prieto shared Player of the Week honors with Bryan Griffin of Mercy College, and Camara picked up ECC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Floyd had a record-setting night for the Purple Knights on Wednesday night, as he scored a UB and ECC single-game record 55 points against LIU Post when he connected on 20-of-31 field goal attempts including going a record-setting 15-of-22 from behind the three-point arc. In two Bridgeport wins last week, Floyd averaged 28.5 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game.
Bakary helped UB to a pair of wins last week's averaging 9.0 rebounds (5.5 defensive), 3.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. Camara also averaged 16.5 points per game.
This week, the UB men's basketball team closes out the 2018-198 regular season looking for a home quarterfinal contest in the East Coast Conference Championship Tournament playing at Robert Wesleyan College on Friday night and Daemen College on Sunday afternoon.
