Men's Basketball Returns To The To Court With Two-Point Overtime Loss At Stonehill
Purple Knights Right Back In Action Tomorrow At Bentley
Easton, Mass.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team returned to court after the Holiday Break on Saturday afternoon, and the Purple Knights fell to the host Stonehill College Skyhawks, 65-63, in overtime in a non-conference contest. UB led by 11 points, 41-30, with 12:34 to play, but Stonehill rallied to force overtime when Joel Berroa hit two free throws with 13 second to play in regulation to tie the game at 56-56. With the loss, Bridgeport is now 5-7 overall. The Skyhawks move to 9-4 overall with the win.
Junior Bakary Camara (Harlem, N.Y.) led the Purple Knights in scoring with 19 points, and he also grabbed seven rebounds.
Camara was joined in double-digit scoring by sophomore Travis Robinson-Morgan (Elmont, N.Y.) with 11 points and senior Dennis Green (Bronx, N.Y.) with 10 points.
Sophomore Hashem Abbas (Nablus, Palestine) chipped in nine points and seven boards for UB.
Stonehill's Will Moreton led the hosts with 19 points.
Up next, the UB men's basketball team will close out the 2018 portion of this season's schedule looking to get back in the win column at Bentley University. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m.
