Wilmington, Del.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the 2018-19 season on Saturday night, as the Purple Knights fell to the host Goldey-Beacom University Lightning, 104-78, in Delaware. UB is now 3-1 overall, and Goldey-Beacom moves to 1-3 on the season.
Senior D'Vonne Trumbo (Pilesgrove, N.J.) led the Purple Knights with 21 points, as he hit seven-of-eight field goals.
Junior Bakary Camara (Harlem, N.Y.) joined Trumbo in double figures with 13 on the night.
Senior Eric Rankin (Bronx, N.Y.) and sophomore Hashem Abbas (Nablus, Palestine) led Bridgeport on the glass, as they each grabbed six rebounds.
