Purple Knights Have Now Won 11 Games In A Row
Bridgeport, Conn.- The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team's potent offense was on display on Wednesday evening, as UB picked up its eleventh win in row and moved to 20-4 overall on the season with a 119-97 East Coast Conference victory over the visiting University of the District of Columbia Firebirds. This is the sixth time this season Bridgeport has scored at least 100 points in a game.
Tonight's win also marks the tenth time during head coach Mike Ruane's 18-year tenure on the Purple Knights' bench that his team has posted at least 20 wins in a single season. The last time UB posted 20-wins in a year was 2014-15 when Bridgeport went 24-7. With the triumph, the Purple Knights are now 13-1 in conference play. With the loss, UDC slips to 5-18 on the season and 3-11 in ECC action.
