Men's Hoops Falls At Molloy, 80-74
Team Is Back In Action On Saturday At Home Against Queens
Rockville Centre, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team got out to a 5-0 lead in the game, but the host Molloy College Lions roared back to post a 80-74 East Coast Conference win on Long Island on Thursday night. UB has now lost four-games in a row, and the Purple Knights are an even 12-12 overall and 9-7 in conference action. Molloy is now 8-17 overall and 6-11 in the ECC.
Bridgeport seniors Ernest Rouse (Freeport, N.Y.) and Devon Elliott (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led all scorers in the game, as the each had 19 points. They were joined in double figures by classmate Muhammed Ahmed (Bronx, N.Y.), who added 14 points and nine rebounds on the night for the Purple Knights.
Jaylen Morris led three Molloy players in double figures with 18 points.
The UB men's basketball team will look to get back in the win column on Saturday afternoon when the Purple Knights open a three-game homestand versus Queens (N.Y.) College. Tip-off is slated for 3:00 p.m.
