Men's Basketball Loses On The Road At Queens, 71-58
Purple Knights Five-Game Win Streak Comes To An End. UB Scheduled To Face ECC-Leading C.W. Post On Wednesday Night At Home
Flushing, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end on Monday night, as the Purple Knights dropped an East Coast Conference road game against the Queens (N.Y.) College Knights by a 71-58 score. With the loss, UB is now 10-8 overall and 10-3 in conference play. Queens is now 13-5 overall, and the Knights are also 10-3 in the ECC. QC and UB are now tied for second place in the conference standings, both one game behind C.W. Post.
Edil Lacayo and Khalil McDonald led Queens in scoring as they each registered 16 points.
Senior Jermaine Washington (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Purple Knights in scoring with 15 points, and he was joined in double figures by graduate student Dave Boykin (White Plains, N.Y.) with 11 points.
The Purple Knights are next scheduled to be in action at home on Wednesday night when they host first place C.W. Post University. Game time in Hubbell Gym is set for 7:00 p.m.
